Re-Focusing our Vision

As we begin a new year many of us will make resolutions, only to break them in about 4 weeks. We all laugh about the many resolutions we have made and broken. Most of them have to do with exercise and weight loss, how do I know that, because I have made them and broken them.
At Community Baptist our theme this year is to Re-Focus our Vision, every year we need to ask God to not only give us new goals and pursuits but to refocus our old ones as well. I have been challenged by the Lord to re-Focus our vision on the purpose we are here and that is to reach more people for Jesus Christ. This past Sunday I have shared the goals and dreams of this church for the next 5 Years and I am looking forward to have God meet these goals. Over the last month we have seen God all ready renew our vision and it is exciting to see. Watch with me and see God do great things here at Community.

End of the World

As a Pastor, it has really amazed me, that a so called "Bible believer" would have the gall to predict the end of the world and not even take God's word for it. I guess Harold Camping was soon busying finding bogus numbers that he forgot to read this verse:
Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
I wonder what part of this verse he didn't understand? I pity the followers of this man that where misled and now have to eat humble pie and start their lives all over again. If people would look to Jesus and knew their Bibles better they would have never followed this man's false teachings. Be careful on following man without checking his words with Scriptures. One thing I am sure of is that the Bible guarantees that God cannot lie, so when God says no man knows He means just that. I want to leave you with two thoughts.
1. Jesus is coming back to get his church, but we DO NOT know when, so be ready.
2. Because we as Christians don't know when Christ is coming, we ought to be faithful serving our Lord and Saviour.
